Paramount Hates Tom Too: A Week in Review

Couch Jump

So by now you’ve surely heard that Paramount kicked Tom to the curb this week. Let’s all say it together: Mwahahahahahahaha! OK, now that we’ve all gotten our evil laughs out of the way, let’s recap, shall we?

On Tuesday, Viacom Inc. Chairman Sumner Redstone told the Wall Street Journal that Paramount was ending its 14-year relationship with Tom:

“It’s nothing to do with his acting ability, he’s a terrific actor,” Sumner told The Wall Street Journal yesterday. “But we don’t think that someone who effectuates creative suicide and costs the company revenue should be on the lot…. As much as we like him personally, we thought it was wrong to renew his deal. His recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount.”

Let’s all just take a moment to bask in the glow of that sublime burn before we move on to Tom’s rebuttal. That’s right, take a deep breath…savor it. Do you have a beatific smile on your face? You should. Alright, let’s resume.

Paula Wagner, Tom’s producing partner, hit back at Redstone right quick, telling the LA Times:

“It is graceless. It is undignified. It’s not businesslike,” she said. “I ask, what is his real agenda? What is he trying to do? Is this how you treat artists? If I were another actor or filmmaker, would I work at a studio that takes one of their greatest assets and publicly does this?”

She went on to claim that it was their decision to leave Paramount after contract negotiations had faltered, and that she and Tom had secured $100 million in outside funding from two unnamed hedge funds to establish an independent production company. Paramount’s response? Another burn, baby, this time to the New York Times:

A spokesman for Mr. Redstone, Carl Folta, scoffed at Ms. Wagner’s talk of new financial backers. “Did they give you a name?” he said.

Even better yet, “South Park” creators and Tom tormenters Trey Parker and Matt Stone just secured a two-picture deal with Paramount. Awesome.

The moral of the story? Sumner Redstone is our new hero.

Thanks to reader Malaika for initially tipping us off to the story.

sumner is indeed an old fart and Tom is the winner, he made Paramount secure, now they are in a deep shit and not a friendly place.

Redstone has upseted Paramount ’s chief Brad Grey and Dreamwork’s owner Spielberg and Grazer who call redstone a liar (he never congratulate Redstone he asked ‘what’s going on?’ Hollywooddeadline)

All the media are on Tom’s side.

Redstone = Heidi Fleiss, sued by his own son, murder investigation, prositution, drug addicted, etc)

What a jerk you are

Tom Cruise, I hate him with a passion. Him and Scientologist.

Robert C. Unseld

By doing the right thing, it isn’t much of a surprise that there is so much hatred directed towards him. Psychiatry and psychotropic medications ruin lives. The diagnosis made by these psychiatrists are vague and have no merit to serve other than spend millions of dollars a year of taxpayer’s money that leave the victim unable to function.

Oh of course Robert, any scientologist is by far more qualifed to dispense mental health knowledge than a professional psychologist- just by the mere nature of their religion! Funny thing is only scientologists believe that…. what a coincidence.

What U said, Andrew. U got a cool name.

Creative suicide indeed, I haven’t heard of any projects for him yet. I want him off movies and TV forever!

I like that oprah winfrey show when tom is jumping on the couch. i relay realy love that!! i love tom 4-ever.. you see me on the next premiere of tom.. in Holland

Tom certainly was….creative in his career suicide. Heard he was going to be in this crazyass Scientology movie production thing. It’ll never get made, trust me on that. TC can’t open up his mouth without sounding bigoted about ANYTHING……

I’d verbally take him down a peg or two. He’d never get me to join his batshit crazy ‘religon’. Heard he tried to convert Scarlett Johanssen. Brought her to a ’surprise’ dinner with the ‘higher’ members of the ‘religon’. Smart girl excused herself and fled like her ass was on fire!

is tom ever been in Holland??

Nope.

I hearby name TC with the stereotype of a BIGOT. Can’t open up his yapper and not sound like a crazy prejudiced pussysucker..

heey.. Do you ever saw tom cruise and when he is comming to holland??

go to imdb.com and go to his news or press release, or whatever the fuck he calls it. Leave us be.

Tom Cruise, I condemn you to hell! When you die and discover there is no scientology heaven, you will go to the fiery hell pit until you are forced to admit it is not a real religon. Say hi to L Ron down there too, for trying to ‘play god’.

I would curse him to have shitty movies for the rest of his life, but that’s been done already. Hehe, every one of them is a flop!

XD

”Tom Cruise jumping the couch” like that XD

Go to youtube and find Scary movie 4 parody of that incident and you will LAUGH! I loved it!

Robert, you are an uneducated fuck who needs to stay away from here. I am on an SSRI antidepressant that doesn’t cure like Cruise thinks, it helps to regulate my moods. There are numerous scientific reports/evidence as to this, it enriches my life.

U and Tom need to do your motherfuckin’ homework before shooting off your big fat pieholes, you faggot.

As to the family thing, my family is thankful and happy that I’m getting the help that I need, thank U very much. Asshole.

Nice page greetings to all in this guestbook!

Nice design. Please add more smiles to your guestbook

Having been on psychotropic meds in the past and almost losing my life while going through withdrawl, Mr. Cruise is right in how the meds mask the problem. I learned to deal with the realities of life. Psychiatry doesn’t take responsibility for the consequences of their actions. My girlfriend committed suicide over these psychotropic drugs.

What is Shadow Girl hiding from. It appears that there is a problem with anger. I lost a girlfriend to suicide because of 32 years of psychiatry. Nothing she took helped. It is best to face one’s problems than hide behind a pill. There are many side effects to these dangerous medications that the scientific reports indicate.

Oh Tom, you so crazy!
L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer — and an unsuccessful one — until he came up with the brilliant idea of inventing a religion. The vengeful dead space aliens, the e-meters all that crap were made up by a nutcase.
Scientology fleeces gullible people out of thousands of dollars. it’s a huge money-making machine for the folks at the helm. No wonder they chased after Tom Cruise like dogs after a bitch in heat (nice analogy, no?) Cruise had enormous name recognition. Plain old confused folks think that if Scientology is good for the likes of Tom it must be good for them.
Not so. it’s a pyramid scam and any dissent is met with threats of lawsuits and ostracism. The Church of Scientology has a huge legal department.
Do some research and you’ll be horrified at how people have been fleeced and screwed over by Scientology.
As for Robert C. Unseld, nice name! I’m sorry about your girlfriend but for countless people with mental illness, medication is the best way to cure what is basically a chemical imbalance in the brain. No amount of talk therapy or “facing one’s problems” will correct a chemical imbalance.
I wear contact lenses to correct my poor eyesight and I take insulin to correct my diabetes. Thinking good thoughts wouldn’t do a thing for those problems. I have seem severely depressed people literally blossom on drugs like prozac. It and similar drugs are a wonderful boon when used correctly. People die for lack of the proper medication. People live in misery, depressed and lonely because they don’t take the psychiatric meds that would give them normal lives. Try keeping an open mind.
Oh, yeah… I hate Tom Cruise!

I’m responding to Jill’s letter from last September and thank her for the compliment on my name which is my mother’s maiden name.

The bottom line with treatment for a mental illness is that the individual has to feel comfortable about the treatment. All medications have side effects and I take some for my Parkinson’s Disease.

Having worked for a mental health agency for six years, the emphasis was placed on performing services that we could bill Medicaid for. Having the consumer medicated made the job easier. There have been abuses of the system where consumers are locked up in a psychiatric hospital when it isn’t necessary and the motive was to bill Medicaid.

I’ll never forget pulling up towards the apartment to find a the sheriff’s forsenic band parked in my parking space. Judy’s co-workers from the school next door where she worked were present and weeping openly. Her son advised me that her mother was deceased. There’s no medication in the world that will take that pain away.

My suggestion is to call someone for support rather than commit suicide. I respect the person’s cright to choose the mode of treatment but please don’t take your life.

One shouldn’t hate Tom Cruise. He has a good heart and will probably be directed away from promoting Scientology, which isn’t for everyone. Take care!
